Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team, working across both facility-based and home-based settings as part of our comprehensive network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies, and hospice agencies. The ideal candidate will assist in the provision of therapy services under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping patients regain their full range of motion and improve their quality of life following injury or illness. Assist Physical Therapists in developing treatment plans based on patient needs. Implement selected components of patient interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications as needed. Document patient's response to treatment and report the outcome of each treatment to the supervising physical therapist. Educate patients and families about treatment plans and maintenance exercises. Maintain equipment and ensure treatment areas are clean and organized. Assist patients in performing specific exercises as part of the plan of care. Attend and contribute to patient care, staff conferences and other related meetings. Proficiency in using physical therapy software and databases Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff Ability to perform physical tasks, such as moving or supporting patients Excellent organizational and observational skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Physical Therapist Assistant state license CPR certified
