assist the Material Clerk I's and Senior Material Distribution
Clerks in the receiving, sorting, processing, routing, and
distributing incoming and outgoing mail. Expedite processes by
making decisions for efficiency.Responsibilities
- Assist with mail preparation for Post Office and in accordance
with postal regulations. Operate postage meters.
- Assists in collection, processing and distributing of mail,
hand work, mailings, or special projects for bulk mail.
- Assists assigned personnel in preparing and/or operating
addressing/inserting equipment. Supervises and assists with the
preparation of outgoing shipments.
- Provides the clerical skills in receiving materials and other
supplies. Responsible for checking, sorting and issuing supplies,
and for maintaining stock records and preparing shipping
records.
- Reports any damages or shortages of materials. May make minor
repairs to equipment.
- Operates a university vehicle when making pickups/deliveries on
predetermined schedules and routes.
- Performs related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED. Six months of work experience.
- Familiarity with office and postal equipment, stock handling
and maintaining records.
- Ability to adapt to change and maintain flexibility.
- Demonstrated ability to receive direction, cooperate with
supervisors, co-workers and work independently.
- Texas Class C Driver's LicenseRelevant education and experience
may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
- One to two year of direct work experience with postal equipment
equipment, stock handling and maintaining records.Driving Required
- This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The
applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record
from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas
resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days
of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a
CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment,
post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and
follow-up drug and alcohol testing).Salary Range$41,600 + depending
on qualificationsWorking Conditions
- Considerable amount of time spent lifting, bending, stooping
and standing. Dress for the weather, may work outside in all
weather conditions. Overtime and weekends may be required to meet
deadlines and schedules.Work Shift
