Position Summary
Working under direct supervision, perform material take-offs,
organize and expedite workflow for maximum efficiency, and
coordinate and control flow of materials, parts, assemblies, and
labor hours through the manufacturing process.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
--- Responsible for ensuring that all Production schedules will be
met.
--- Coordinate the manufacturing and assembly flow and report the
status of same to the Operations Services.
--- Manage the Production Control Planner/Scheduler tools, as
required.
--- Maintain an accurate, current computerized database of the
movement of all parts through the manufacturing process from
initial to final stages. Ensure that all parts are tracked in such
a manner that exact status and location can be easily
ascertained.
--- Verify current inventory of materials and requisition all
materials and parts required to manufacture and/or assemble
finished product.
--- Monitor daily time charges to the job to assure accurate
accounting of labor hours, accurate estimated time to complete
(ETC), and the reliability of the computerized scheduling.
ADDITIONAL
--- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and
assemblies through the manufacturing process.
--- Organize and arrange all production documentation required to
process manufactured items.
--- Act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Quality, and
Engineering to resolve all discrepancies and problems during
--- the manufacturing processes.
--- Perform other duties and assignments as required by the
Operations Services Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
--- High School degree or equivalent.
--- At least 5 years' experience in scheduling, planning, and
expediting (Production Control) in a Machine Shop environment
required.
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
interpersonal skills, and
--- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
PREFERRED
--- Familiarity with Government (NASA, DOD) aerospace
manufacturing.
Additional Information
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as
follows.
--- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at
night.
--- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
--- Work surface is stable (flat).
--- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled
conditions.
--- Job tasks are performed near other people.
