Who We Are
The Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) department provides
reliable and cost-effective, mission-critical, enterprise-wide
information systems at Texas A&M University's main campus
(including School of Law, Health Science Center, and other
locations across Texas) and its branch campuses in Galveston and
Qatar to support the academic, administrative, research and
recruiting missions of Texas A&M University. EIS systems allow
students to apply, enroll, pay and graduate, then transition from
Texas A&M University to careers. The EIS team manages the
student information system, a software product called Banner, which
assists academic services to ensure effective and efficient
processes and quality services for students. EIS also maintains and
enhances the "Howdy" web portal serving as the "front door" for
student information system content and more. Howdy currently allows
Texas A&M University students, applicants, faculty, staff,
parents and former students to use a single sign-on to access
web-based campus services.
What we want
The IT Business Analyst III is responsible for providing advanced
functional support for the University's Accounts Receivable
processes for the EIS Student Information System. Leads and works
with other project team members to maintain and support/test the
installed system. Complete reports and summaries for management
and/or users including project status reports, problem reports, and
progress summaries. Works as a liaison between technical developers
and technical leads as well as various departments across TAMU that
require accounts receivable data.

Salary Range: $56,582.74 - $66,164.80

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience
* Five years of progressively responsible experience designing,
analyzing, or implementing business processes
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
* Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education and Experience:
* Master's degree in Business or Computer Science
* Three years of progressively responsible experience with business
processes in the AR or FAID functional unit. Two or more year's
progressively responsible experience, ERP implementation
experience, student information systems experience, and training or
customer support experience. Experience collaborating with student
information system functional areas such as Academic Advising,
Recruiting/Admissions, Records, Student Business Services, Student
Financial Aid, and Graduate Studies.

Responsibilities
* Coordinate Functional Development - Coordinates functional
software development and testing that supports various business
units and colleges. Leads small to large sized projects. Directs
the analysis, review, and documentation of business processes and
end-user requirements for assigned projects. Coordinates the
creation of functional specifications for projects based on
business process and requirement documentation. Oversees the
testing of projects. In coordination with the Howdy team, leads the
development and testing of online user interfaces for business
processes / projects. Oversees the escalation, reporting, and
tracking of performance issues to Ellucian and the TCC through the
online Ellucian Support Center. Designing Banner security in
conjunction with the home department.
* Project Analysis and Design - Interacts with the supported
offices on a regular basis to ensure that business requirements are
met. Communicates with customers to research and understand the
business requirements for a project. Identifies the gaps between
the business requirements and the application's existing
functionality. Designs and develops the most effective solution to
meet the requirements and bridge the identified gaps. Collaborates
with technical staff to design batch process automation /
scheduling. Collaborates with security to design security roles for
applications, specific projects, and reports. Builds and maintains
validation data, settings, and rules in the supported applications
for the functional area.
* Project and Area Coordination - Collaboratively liaisons with
various business units on a regular basis to ensure departmental
requirements are met; oversees liaison relations with the client
department. Provides advanced support for critical processes for
various business units and colleges. Provides summaries, timelines,
and reports for area projects to EIS management. Provides oversight
for upgrade testing; develops testing plans and ensures completion.
Coordinates and manages training and communications for end-users.
Coordinates, reviews, and approves documentation.
* Project Testing - Develops and executes testing plans for
assigned projects to ensure project quality and delivery of the
project's requirements. Reports discovered problems to technical
staff for correction. Retests corrections until the problem is
eliminated. Performs assigned testing of vendor provided upgrades
and patches to ensure existing processes are not adversely
affected.
* Application Coordination - Reports and tracks performance issues
to Ellucian and the Texas Connection Consortium (TCC) through the
online Ellucian Support Center. Collaborates with Ellucian, the
TCC, and other institutions of higher education (IHE) that use
Ellucian applications to recommend enhancements and solutions to
performance issues. Monitors and actively participates in the
Ellucian Commons. Researches and resolves issues reported by
end-users.
* Training and Documentation - Develops end-user documentation and
training materials for EIS supported applications. Uses EIS's
documentation software to document baseline processes and TAMU
developed enhancements.
* Professional Development - Participates in training and
professional development. Attends work and application related
training and conferences such as Ellucian Live, CoHEsion, Texas
Connection Consortium (TCC), and Texas A&M Technology Summit.
