The office is also responsible for recruiting and enrollment of an academically prepared student body that is geographically, ethnically and economically diverse. In addition, Admissions also offers several opportunities for prospective students and their families to visit campus throughout the year to learn about the rich traditions and culture of Texas A&M University.The Academic Affairs Recruiting Office assisted with the creation and posting of this job requisition for the Office for Admissions.What we want The Transcript Analyst I position is responsible for examining, evaluating and entering student academic records to determine Admission eligibility. Assists with other undergraduate processing and answers admissions-related inquiries from prospective students, parents, and the academic departments.The Office of Admissions needs an individual whose values are in line with Texas A&M's commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, in addition to the core values of Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service. The ideal candidate for a Transcript Analyst I in the Office of Admissions is someone who is skilled in critical thinking and is detailed oriented. The worker in this position should be able to work both independently and within a group, have strong multi-tasking skills, and be able to manage high volume workloads during peak processing seasons. Other skills required to succeed in this position include effective time management, flexibility, high level computer and keyboarding/data entry skills, excellent customer service and communication skills.Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years or related experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
    • Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to understand, follow, and give verbal and written instructions
    • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with othersOther Requirements:
      • Must be able to work extended hours during peak processing seasonsPreferred Education and Experience:
        • Bachelors degree
        • Six months experience in college admissions, records, or departmental advising officePreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
          • Working knowledge of the college credit system preferredResponsibilities:
            • Examines, evaluates and enters student academic records to determine Admission eligibility using the Document Imaging Workflow System (DIWS) and the student information system
            • Prepares admission-related documents for review
            • Assists with the Data Capture-Validation function which is a new workflow item for all paper college transcripts as well as partner with a transfer transcript analyst to share responsibilities in peak season
            • Answers general office email, assists with walk-in traffic and telephone inquiries from prospective students, their parents, etc. regarding a variety of admissions-related issues. Assists advisors/counselors with review of admissions applications
            • Works cooperatively and jointly with Admissions Processing staff to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality seamless customer service
            • Handles special projects as assigned by supervisor
