Visit us at https://srs.tamu.edu/about/ to learn more about us.What we wantThe Project Administrator I, is responsible for coordinating routine administrative and financial details between Texas A&M University, researchers, sponsors and administrative offices with an emphasis on post-award administration of sponsored research projects; establishing accounts in the A&M System accounting system; reviewing and interpreting award terms and conditions, cost sharing requirements, award budget, sponsor regulations, deliverable requirements and System policies; and preparing award notices. This position will report directly to a Team Lead with Sponsored Research Services. • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, organizational, interpersonal, proofreading, and time management skills
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex problems, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to utilize software systems and other electronic tools to successfully and efficiently execute projects
  • Excellent time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with othersPreferred Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
    • Experience within the A&M System or other university setting
    • Experience interpreting and monitoring compliance with federal regulations, including OMB Circulars and Code of Federal Regulations, as they pertain to sponsored research
    • Progressively responsible budgeting and/or project administration experience
    • Experience in sponsored research projects management and/or accounting
    • Business experience in the A&M System or other university setting
    • Work experience in a professional business environment
    • Experience in reading and interpreting contractual documents
    • Advanced experience using Word, Excel, and FAMIS, and/or Maestro to prepare budgets and interpret financial informationPreferred Knowledge and Skills:
      • Strong mathematical and comprehension skills
      • Ability to review project scope of work for needed compliancePreferred Licenses and Certifications:
        • Certified Research Administrator (CRA)Responsibilities:
          • Monitors SRS Awards inbox
          • Under supervision, reviews intake and interprets a portfolio of standard award documents which includes budget, revenue, billing requirements, facilities and administrative cost rates, cost-sharing commitments, reporting requirements and deliverables
          • Executes the internal proposal routing process to expedite the project set-up of internal proposals
          • Demonstrates the ability to understand and navigate the internal routing process for new awards with regards to the TAMUS policy and procedures
          • Coordinates with SRS proposal administrators, contract negotiators, project administrators, and accounts receivable with regard to data elements necessary for project and account establishment
          • Confirms with Member Compliance Officials to help expedite and obtain required protocols and approvals necessary prior to releasing funding
