Job Description:

Seeking a Polysomnographer Level II to coordinate daily operations of the Sleep Laboratory, monitoring quality, policies, and staff performance, and educating patients on sleep disorders and treatments.

  The Polysomnography Technologist 2 is responsible for performing polysomnographic studies, scoring studies, and formulating reports for physician interpretation. They must also communicate instructions, results, and relative information to patients, physicians, and family members.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  
  • 
    
  • Perform polysomnographic studies, including oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure titrations
    
  • Score studies and formulate reports for physician interpretation
    
  • Communicate instructions, results, and relative information to patients, physicians, and family members
    
  • Calibrate and perform routine and troubleshooting maintenance on equipment
    
  • Consult regularly with the Medical Director regarding patient studies
    
  • Maintain standards for completeness of Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Control measurements
    
  • Orient and train new Sleep Lab employees
    
  • Establish and implement performance improvements, including education and staff development
    
    
    Requirements
    
    • 
      
    • Advanced expertise of Polysomnographic Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications
      
    • Ability to read, write, and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate
      
    • Ability to communicate thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing
      
    • Ability to work under stressful conditions
      
    • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot audio and video equipment
      
    • General computer skills, including data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning, and email
