Direct Support Professional *This position is located in Cameron, TX. Must be willing to commute or relocate*POSITION TITLE: Direct Support Professsional (DSP) REPORTS TO: Child-Care Supervisor or Program Director POSITION PURPOSE:To provide direct care and management of the residents (Supervision). To ensure the safety and crisis management for resident population. Implement the daily routine per program policy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in the development and implementation of the plan of service for assigned residents. 2. Responds to crisis situations in a safe and effective manner.

• Assists in providing safe delivery of care to promote wellness.
• Assists with the program milieu by ensuring that residents adhere to the Resolution Ranch Code of Conduct.
• Ensure documentation of resident behaviors and ensure proper administration of medication.
• Transport residents safely in the community
• Administer minor medical treatment as prescribed by a physician or nurse practitioner.
• Prepare meals in a timely and effective manner; clean up as needed.
• Reports maintenance needs to supervisor and ensures the cleanliness of the program area.
• Adheres to program philosophy and policies and procedures.
• Willing to adjust to many different tasks and job duties as needed.
• Overnight sleeping in assigned designated scheduled areas (Dorm). QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information. Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation, ability to accurately supervise self-administration of medication. At least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent. EDUCATION: Bachelor s degree in Behavioral Science or equivalent work experience or a combination of both education and work experience is preferred. High school diploma or GED required. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: * Current Texas driver's license with good driving record. * Complete required training in CPR, First aid. EXPERIENCE: * Experience in mental health field preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * 80%-90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. * Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of residents. * Ability to perform CPR and first aid. * Ability to work rotating shifts. * Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions. * Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential functions. * Ability to drive a vehicle.
