Staff Assistant II - Economic Development & Tourism Print (http://agency.governmentjobs.com/cstx/job\_bulletin.cfm?jobID=3746184=0) Apply Staff Assistant II - Economic Development & Tourism Salary $16.72 - $18.39 Hourly Location College Station, TXJob TypeFull TimeDepartmentEconomic DevelopmentJob Number2201839Closing 11/30/2022 11:59 PM Central + Description + Benefits + Questions DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Business Services Manager, the Staff Assistant II performs varied administrative tasks related to the activities and operations of the Economic Development & Tourism Department.Principal Duties+ Responsible for providing support to department in areas such as as answering incoming calls, responding to various inquiries regarding departmental operations, services, policies and procedures.+ Assist the department with administrative support duties to include but not limited to, meeting appointments and calendaring logistics, setting up travel, distributing correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and other documents. + Coordinate the tracking, timely submission and approval routing for the Department's operating contracts.+ Assist with the fiscal aspects of department to include processing departmental invoices, purchase orders, check requisitions and expense reports/reimbursements, to include performing entry or receiving data input functions.+ Assist with department events to include event registration, sales support, logistical coordination and attending City events.+ Provide administrative support to the department, in areas such as, payroll time entry, personnel processing, purchasing office supplies, maintaining office equipment and general programming support.+ Maintain accurate and organized record keeping and file systems related to department operations and activities; perform tasks related to data entry and maintenance of information, document scanning, research, classifying, indexing, filing, storing, auditing, and other document management activities. + Assist with special projects as requested and perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired: High School Diploma or G.E.D., and three (3) years customer service, clerical or administrative support experience related to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess intermediate level computer skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry, as well as the ability to quickly learn software related to department functions. Possess excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to compose and prepare routine correspondence and documents. Well organized with the ability to complete work with a strong attention to detail. Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with regard to records and files. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with peers, superiors, and the general public. Preferred: One (1) year experience in the economic development and/or tourism field.
