Job Title Budget Specialist I Agency Prairie View A&M University Department College Of Education Proposed Minimum Salary $3,194.84 monthly Job Location Prairie View, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate. The Budget Specialist I will manage and maintain all budget/fiscal affairs for the College of Education under the direction of the Dean. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain all budget/fiscal affairs for the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education (WRGCOE) under the direction of the Dean (i.e., state, local, and grants accounts). Ensures compliance related to payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and account reconciliation is being implemented. Utilize various payment mechanisms used by the University (ex., Procurement cards, IDOs, Purchase Orders, Corporate Travel Cards). Initiate and/or assist with travel reimbursements before and after travel to include local travel reimbursements in accordance with TAMUS and Federal guidelines. Initiate and/or assist with vendor contracts, receipts, and quotes with documentation for submission and processing. Update and create various spreadsheets and databases to reconcile all accounts (i.e., state, local, and grants accounts). Collaborate and interact effectively with internal and external constituents to ensure the financial and budgetary needs of the WRGCOE are met. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of experience. No prior experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Special Requirements: Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a bachelor's degree plus the minimum required years of experience.
