Job Title Program Coordinator I P9 Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Entomology Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Serve as the primary contact and provide leadership and administrative support to facilitate all aspects of training and educational activities for the NSF-BII Behavioral Plasticity Research Institute (BPRI) team. This will involve being the central communicator, facilitator and liaison for faculty, scientists, postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, across different biological disciplines while working closely with various member institutions of the BPRI (including Baylor College of Medicine, Texas A&M University, Washington University in St. Louis, Arizona State University, University of California, Davis, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville). - Track and assess BPRI trainees progress according to their individual development plan.- Conduct annual assessments of the effectiveness of the education and outreach activities; organize, plan, implement and oversee all planned educational activities, conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings and workshops; advertise open positions and organize recruitment events; and assist in writing the education and outreach components for annual reports. - Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets; may assist with developing various research reports, etc.- Other job related duties as required/needed. REQUIRED EDUCATION: B.S. in the social or natural sciences PREFERRED EDUCATION: Ph.D. in the natural or social sciences REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two years administrative, management and/or leadership experience REQUIRED SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to proficiently use a computer and applicable word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications to communicate, prepare reports, monitor budgets, etc.; strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
