Job Title Program Coordinator II Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service Department Family And Community Health Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The RED Program Coordinator II works under direct supervision of the grant Principal Investigator (PI)/Project Director, Program Leader for Family and Community Health Unit and in cooperation with the Associate Director for 4-H, Youth Development and Human Sciences. This position is an integral part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition and Statewide Initiatives RED Program funded by Texas Department of Transportation and is essential to support project activities and meet the objectives of the grant. Responsible for planning and conducting RED Class programs on injury prevention for young drivers. Participate as an instructor at project RED Classes. Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of technical subject area. Participate in community groups, committees, task forces, and other local organizations to promote traffic safety programs and provide information. Establish working relations with area hospitals, courts and businesses to develop and implement programs. Market traffic safety community education programs to ensure the public is aware of resources. Assist in community outreach programs. Assess community needs and conduct evaluations to ensure program effectiveness. Frequent travel including day trips and overnight trips. On average 70% of work week is spent traveling to facilities to conduct programs. 35% Assist County Extension agents and other safety advocates with programming on injury prevention programs for young drivers. Plan and conduct RED programs. Conduct evaluations of programs. Report program activities to Program Manager. 25% Maintain subject area knowledge. Serve as instructor at RED Class programs. Assist with preparation for classes. 25% Assist with loading van and trailer with program and training equipment. Assist with transfer of equipment from storage location to event and training sites or other safety program locations. 10% Assist with preparation of new materials and updated materials to support grant objectives including PowerPoint presentations, brochures, fact sheets and posters. Attend trainings, as needed, to maintain skill level in subject matter. 5% Other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience, plus an additional four (4) years of related experience. Required Knowledge Abilities and Skills: Good interpersonal skills and decision making skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications Experience in Microsoft WORD, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to travel on day trips as well as overnight trips to meet project objectives. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Knowledge Abilities and Skills: Previous experience with traffic safety program Public speaking experience including presenting traffic safety programs and working with youth audiences Knowledge of TxDOT system of traffic safety specialists Knowledge of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension System THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION All positions are security-sensitive.
