• Works in consultation with strategic grants coordinator, TAMUS faculty and staff, other agency and university collaborators, sponsors, internal staff, and others as required in the preparation and writing of proposals to competitive FOA's from federal, state, and local agencies (e.g. USDA, NIH, NSF, DOD, and DOE). Provides insight during the proposal and grant writing process to ensure that the researcher's objectives and goals are visible to grant reviewers and that the proposal is responsive to the FOA.
• Works as part of a team to interpret grant proposal requirements/PI eligibility/creating timelines for proposal development.
• Develops tools, guidance documents, and trainings related to proposal development. Part of a team that notifies department leaders and faculty of upcoming funding opportunities on a weekly basis.
• Creates and updates agency resources for research faculty. Prepares and maintains written boilerplate information (where applicable) related to the agency, centers, and departments.
• Develops and maintains standard proposal formats for grants.
• Assist with outreach and follow-up efforts as requested.
• Performs other duties as assignedRequired Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two year of related experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Working knowledge of standard office equipment and software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Ability to independently make decisions.
    • Familiarity with Grants.gov and key requirements for proposals to USDA, NIH, NSF, DOE, and DOD.
    • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work on multidisciplinary teams in developing proposals.
