To learn more about the research being conducted in the College of Education and Human Development including current projects, funding, research centers and departments, please click here What we want The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for leading the Center's research and NIRS (National Information and Reporting System) data coordination activities and assisting with preparation of annual performance reports to the Federal government. Required Education: - Doctoral degree in Special Education with a focus on transition and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. - If the degree had not been conferred at the time applicant applied for a postdoc position, a letter needs to be attached from the school's official Graduate Office and/or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements for the degree have been met and stating the degree conferral date. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Experience: - Three (3) or more years of graduate research experiences in the area of transition (transition to employment, postsecondary education, etc.) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities - Successful experiences in publishing research articles in refereed journals - Experiences working at a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) - Experience assisting university faculty for data analyses Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Excellent skills with using statistical analysis software - Good working ethics and willingness to work in a team Responsibilities: - Take the primary responsibilities of data coordination, collection of National Information and Reporting System (NIRS) data, and assist with the development of annual reports. - Design research activities to collect needs assessment and other types of data, analyze data to identify trends and priorities, participate in writing to disseminate research findings. - Coordinate research and evaluation activities among various projects of the Center. Maintain regular communications with project directors/coordinators to identify research and evaluation needs of the projects, and assist with designing or identifying appropriate research methodologies for the purpose of the research/evaluation activities. - Support Center affiliated faculty in their research activities. Provide consultation to affiliated faculty for choosing appropriate research design and data analyses, assist with review of methodologies of journal articles or grant proposals. - Assist the Director and Associate Director with grant writing and writing for publications. - Represent the Center at Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Research Directors' meetings and other related activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
