Job Description:
Developer, Restaurant Systems The Torchy's legacy began in

in the details. Here's what we need: The Developer, Restaurant
Systems will develop, support, and optimize in-store technology
across our restaurants. This role will focus on software
development, system integrations, and automation to enhance
operational efficiency and ensure seamless restaurant technology
performance. The ideal candidate will have strong programming
skills, experience with API integrations, and a deep understanding
of restaurant technology infrastructure. This position reports to
the Director of Restaurant Systems and will collaborate with
cross-functional teams to drive innovation and maintain system
reliability. What you'll be doing:
- Develop and Maintain Restaurant Technology Solutions: Lead the
development, integration, and maintenance of restaurant technology
systems, with a focus on programming, automation, and system
optimization.
- Hands-On Software Development & API Integration: Utilize
JavaScript, Node.js, and APIs to build, enhance, and support
restaurant system functionality, ensuring seamless communication
between platforms.
- Provide Advanced Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter
expert on Oracle Simphony POS, Bite Kiosks, Samsung VXT Digital
Menu Boards, Paytronix, HotSchedules, CrunchTime, and LRS,
troubleshooting issues and optimizing performance.
- Install, Configure, and Optimize Systems: Deploy, monitor, and
enhance restaurant technology, including POS systems, digital menu
boards, kiosks, and payment processing solutions.
- Database Management & Query Development: Work with relational
databases, writing and optimizing queries to support reporting,
analytics, and system functionality.
- Lead System Upgrades and Enhancements: Implement software
updates, system patches, and configuration changes to ensure
optimal performance and security.
- Ensure Compliance & Data Security: Maintain adherence to PCI,
EMV, CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA and other security protocols, mitigating
risks related to data loss and cyber threats.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with
Marketing, Finance, Operations, and IT to align technology with
business needs, ensuring smooth deployments and minimal
disruptions.
- Drive Efficiency through Automation: Identify and implement
automation opportunities to streamline restaurant operations and
reduce manual processes.
- Support New Restaurant Openings & Expansions: Ensure new
locations are fully integrated with restaurant technology,
coordinating system installations and configurations.
- Monitor & Report System Performance: Track technology
performance, identify issues, and provide clear reporting to
leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage Third-Party Vendors & Integrations: Oversee external
vendors and technology partners, ensuring high system reliability
and performance.
- Maintain 24/7 Support Availability: Provide on-call support for
critical restaurant technology, with shared responsibilities across
internal teams and vendors.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

and optimize restaurant technology systems.

- Work Efficiently Under Pressure - Balance multiple priorities,
troubleshoot urgent technical issues, and adapt quickly to new
challenges in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
- Lead with a Hands-On Approach - Take ownership of projects,
from coding and system configurations to troubleshooting and
performance optimization.
- Collaborate Across Teams - Work closely with Operations,
Marketing, Finance, and IT to align technology initiatives with
business needs.
- Communicate Clearly & Effectively - Break down complex
technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring smooth
coordination across departments.
- Manage Change & Drive Innovation - Implement new technology
solutions, monitor system performance, and continuously seek ways
to improve efficiency.
- Prioritize Security & Compliance - Apply best practices to
maintain security, ensure compliance with PCI, EMV, CCPA, GDPR, and
HIPAA, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Mentor & Develop the Technical Team - Provide guidance,
training, and support to ensure team members can effectively manage
and troubleshoot restaurant systems.
- Stay Proactive & Detail-Oriented - Anticipate potential system
challenges, track key performance metrics, and ensure seamless
technology operations across all locations.
- Flexibility - Ability to have a flexible work schedule. Work
schedule may vary depending on support needs and special projects.
QUE-SO here's what you'll need: Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in restaurant technology, software
development, and system administration, including experience with
Point-of-Sale (POS), back-office, and payment systems.
- 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in JavaScript,
Node.js, and API integrations for restaurant systems or related
technologies.
- Proficiency in relational databases, including writing and
optimizing queries.
- Strong technical knowledge of restaurant system infrastructure,
including distributed software and hardware configurations.
- Experience implementing and maintaining security standards,
ensuring compliance with PCI, EMV, CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA and other
regulatory requirements. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with restaurant-specific systems, including:
- Oracle Simphony Point-of-Sale
- Bite Kiosks
- Samsung VXT Digital Menu Boards
- Paytronix
- HotSchedules
- CrunchTime
- LRS (Long Range Systems)
- Experience with automation tools to streamline restaurant
operations.
- Experience developing and managing cloud-based applications
related to restaurant systems.
- Prior experience managing third-party vendor integrations and
optimizing system performance.
- Experience with system monitoring, analytics, and reporting
tools to track system health and performance.
- Previous experience supporting multi-unit restaurant
operations. Physical Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of daily tasks with
or without reasonable accommodation (Must be able to type for long
periods of time, lift 15lbs, ability to stand and/or sit for long
periods of time, etc.). Travel
- Must be available for travel within the market and support
center or locations, as needed Work Location
