Who we are

Texas A&M University's Division of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness (HROE) provides HR services in support of the vision and mission of Texas A&M University's eighteen colleges and departments and one branch campus in Qatar. HROE is made up of five departments covering Organizational Consulting & Resolution Management (OCRM), Professional Development, Strategic Planning, Talent Management and Total Rewards.

Talent Management is looking for a Human Resources Advisor II to provide support to the Hiring and Onboarding processes by reviewing and processing actions related to new hires, transfers, and other employment actions. We need an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful person will love a fast-paced, high volume environment that requires the detail-oriented, critical eye of a detective and will enjoy working in a structured, organized process that requires high productivity and strong attention to detail. Required Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of related experience in Human Resources

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs
    • Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic organization
    • Customer service orientation
    • Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment
    • Good interpersonal communications skills with the ability to organize and make decisions
    • Knowledge of Human Resources principles
    • Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner
    • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

      Preferred Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Experience in Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and USCIS E-Verify system

        Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

        • Working knowledge of Workday or other Human Capital Management systems, database applications, and employment policies/procedures
        • Knowledge of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and E-Verify

          Responsibilities

          • Reviews and processes actions related to new hires, transfers, and other employment actions, to include E-Verify, Form I-9, and Texas A&M University System Universal Identification Number (UIN) tasks
          • Researches and stays apprised of Federal, State, and local employment laws and employment eligibility verification
          • Understands regulations for processing and answers questions from departments and HR colleagues
          • Notifies department administrators of any discrepancies and corrections
          • In E-Verify, manages Tentative Non Confirmations (TNC), answers questions, and serves as a resource
          • Approves Form I-9 in Guardian and processes Workday and other system tasks related to Form I-9 and UIN
          • Identifies expiring Form I-9s monthly and notifies department administrators
          • Researches and resolves compliance issues related to Form I-9, UIN, and related Workday issues
          • May assist with communications, presentations, and web information related to administration of these processes
          • Assists HR colleagues with hiring procedure compliance including maintaining secure document server, performing degree verifications, and background checks for prospective employees and others required by university policy
          • Posts immigration related materials as requested by Dean of Faculties office
          • Assists HR Liaisons with status changes in Workday; verifies documents and completes required tasks
          • Assists with customer employment processes, responds to correspondence as needed; may respond to applicant problems and questions about online applications and login procedures
          • Handles confidential applicant information
          • Provides customer assistance for the Recruitment process, Hire process, and Onboarding process in Workday
          • Assists with job fairs and general recruitment venues/events, as needed
          • Assists with monitoring websites for accurate information on recruitment issues
          • Assures up-to-date information is maintained on website
          • Serves on committees, task forces, and continuous improvements initiatives to support the goals of Human Resources
          • Attends conferences and/or workshops as determined to stay apprised of laws, rules, and regulations on employment and human resource issues
          • Performs other duties as assigned
