Position Announcement Pharmacy-Health Science Center Librarian -- Texas A&M University Libraries seeks a creative and dynamic professional to join the Texas A&M University Libraries as Pharmacy-Health Science Center Librarian. This is an academic appointment carrying full faculty status and responsibilities for scholarly activities and/or professional service to meet both the Libraries' and the University's requirements for promotion. The appointment may be as a tenure-track/tenured position or a clinical (non-tenure track) position, depending on the successful candidate's professional interest, scholarship engagement, and professional service.---- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Under the guidance of the Medical Sciences Library Deputy Director, the positionprovides liaison services to the students, residents and faculty of Texas A&M Health Science Center with an emphasis on Pharmacy, the Health Science Center. Responsibilities include developing and delivering instructional programs, working with faculty to plan and develop curriculum-integrated content, providing reference and research support, and participating in collection development for designated collection areas. -- Required Qualifications: American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master's degree (or international equivalent) Demonstrated interest in providing online and classroom instruction Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service Library experience Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse population Excellent oral and written communication skills -- Desired Qualifications: -- Experience working in a health sciences library setting Public services experience in a health science environment Experience using pharmacy, medical and life sciences resources Experience designing and delivering instructional programs Knowledge of pharmacy literature and resources Collection development experience Knowledge of web content management systems Knowledge of technologies for instruction and collaboration Knowledge of evidence based practice Knowledge of scholarly communications and faculty metrics Evidence of effective collaboration and teamwork Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals ENVIRONMENT: The University: -- Founded in 1876 as a land-grant institution, Texas A&M University is the sixth largest university in the nation. Additionally, Texas residents enjoy the benefit of having no state or local income tax. -- Salary/Benefits/Rank: Faculty rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience; minimum starting salary will be $50,500. Excellent benefits include health plan and paid life insurance; several retirement plans including TIAA; paid holidays and vacation; no state or local income tax.
