Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This role focuses on providing expert perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room with age- and procedure-appropriate equipment and supplies, anticipating surgical team needs, and maintaining stringent safety protocols. The position requires close collaboration with circulating nurses and adherence to all sterilization and specimen handling standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room considering patient age, surgical pathology, allergies, and procedural needs. Anticipate surgeon requirements by opening and organizing supplies cost-effectively, with guidance from circulating nurses. Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments in accordance with established policies. Assist with proper care and labeling of surgical specimens. Demonstrate proficiency with sterilization systems including steam, EO, low-temp sterilization, washer/disinfector operations, ultrasonic cleaners, and indicator testing. Participate in ongoing professional development and in-service training. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience in operating room nursing. Strong knowledge of pediatric surgical procedures and related equipment. Familiarity with allergy considerations, especially latex sensitivity. Ability to work effectively under established protocols and in a team setting. Demonstrated proficiency in sterilization and infection control techniques. Schedule: Monday to Friday, two shifts available: 2:30 PM 11:00 PM and 10:30 AM 7:00 PM. Location:This opportunity is based in Pflugerville, Texas, a vibrant community located just north of Austin.
