The SPCA of East Texas is seeking a full-time Veterinarian to provide wellness services and/or perform spay/neuter surgery in a high-volume clinic. These positions are supported by an experienced team of highly qualified Vet Techs and clinic support staff. Our clinic provides an excellent opportunity to work in a low-stress environment with a supportive team of professionals. Without the administrative worries of private practice, you would be allowed to focus on the development of your high-quality spay/neuter skills and the ongoing diverse veterinary medical needs of not only the East Texas community but the dogs and cats accepted into our rescue program. If you enjoy and support the philosophy of saving animal lives and preventing unwanted litters, we'd love to hear from you! Responsibilities: Perform spay/neuter surgery proficiently. Partner with the Clinic Director in Wellness program oversight. Willingness to train in high-volume Spay/Neuter & Wellness procedures. Apply state practice act and principles of Veterinary medical ethics in all matters. Leverage evidence-based medicine and continue the pursuit of education to deliver quality patient care. Devote yourself to the culture of preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans. Adopt and positively implement new Veterinary standards and guidelines. Foster an effective Veterinary support team by communicating medical standards, ethical practices, veterinary knowledge, and experience. Requirements: State Veterinary Board License must be in good standing. Minimum 1-year experience practicing small animal Veterinary Medicine. Located in beautiful East Texas, the SNIPPET Clinic has completed over 30,000 spay/neuter surgeries since our inception in 2010. Our clinic is open to the public but also provides the care necessary for the hundreds of dogs and cats in our Rescue and Adoption Programs. With our new clinic design and acreage already acquired, our short-term goals include construction and relocation to a brand-new clinic that will enable us to better serve the needs of our community. Located in the heart of our community, this clinic will not be just a "shelter" or "pound" where people drop off animals to be condemned to die. We will help all dogs and cats entering our program find loving forever homes. We want Tyler and Smith County to be recognized as an area of hope for homeless animals, where dogs and cats picked up as strays are given a second chance.
