Specialty: Travel LVN/LPNLocations: Bellville, TexasShift: Nights - 7pm-7am, 3 days per week rotatingStart Date: ASAPJob Description Based on a physician's order, an LVN may administer medications by oral, topical and hypodermic injection and may perform some skin tests according to specified guidelines. Observes patients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions to the Registered Nurse or Physician. LVNs may administer IV fluids (electrolytes, nutrients, vitamins) LVNs are expected to have compassion; attention to detail; good interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and constructive relationships with patients; willingness to embrace our culture of quality, change and improvement; and proficiency in the electronic health record (EHR). Collects vital signs and document in the EHR: height, weight, blood pressure, pulse oxygen saturation, temperature, pain level, last menstrual period, and any preventive exams or screenings. Participates in development and plan of care with a Registered Nurse. Reviews patient problem list with patient; advise clinician of any changes or updates that need to be made to problem list Works as part of a health care team to monitor patient needs, plans and notifies the Registered Nurse of changes in patient care status. Provides patient education, including post-visit physician recommendations and instructions; provide health coaching. Administers immunizations as directed. Administers medications as ordered by the physician, including nebulized medications for breathing treatments; injections Places ace bandages, slings. Applies and removes/changes dressings Collects specimens (e.g., sputum, urine, etc.), ensures proper methods for handling/storage and delivery. Monitors patient elimination and intake / output as ordered. Documents in the EHR: (may have to rely on patient/family as historian). Make appointments for patients for tests and referrals. Stocks rooms with supplies and forms Removes used/dirty instruments to be autoclaved as needed. Assures that all protocols and nursing workflows, policies and procedures are followed. Attends periodic meetings (nursing, mandatory trainings, operations).
