Job Description:

Texas Home Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our home health team. The OT will be responsible for developing a therapeutic retraining program with measurable objectives from assessing and screening patients? daily living and working skills. As part of this team, the OT will:

1.Assist the physician in evaluating the patient?s level of function by administering and interpreting patient?s diagnostic and prognostic tests of function in their homes.

2.Participate in development and revision of the Plan of Care by conferring with the patients? physicians and clinical team members.

3.Improve and restore strength, coordination, range of motion and function by providing therapeutic treatment and instruction to patients in accordance with physician orders.

Required Skills

1.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

2.Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and compassionate nature.

3.Ability to function with minimal supervision.

4.Ability to advise, instruct and teach clients about adaptive equipment and occupational therapy program.

5.Demonstrated ability to document patient?s care that follows accreditation and compliance guidelines.

Required Experience

1.Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or the equivalent.

2.Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurologic injury generally required.

3.License / Certificate within the state providing services.

4.Experience with a home health, medical surgical, or rehabilitation center environment.

5.At least two (2) years of experience working independently under minimal supervision.

6.Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and in good working order.
