    What we wantWe're seeking a talented and driven Project Manager II to manage project activities for small to medium scope concurrent, strategic IT projects. We need an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. A successful candidate will use traditional and agile methodologies, in a highly collaborative environment, to deliver IT solutions that add value and help enrich our student experience and university community. The Project Manager II leads the planning, execution, and successful completion of concurrent, strategic IT projects within the department by managing project activities such as resources, timelines, and deliverables for projects that are generally medium in scope. In addition, will work closely with line managers, business analysts, and senior management to effectively communicate with project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and project sponsors. Will conduct periodic data analysis and reports to determine project health, project completion metrics, and gather qualitative and quantitative data for project stakeholders.     Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Five years of related experience in Project Management including related supervisory experience
      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      • Thorough understanding of the discipline of Project Management. Proficient in Microsoft Project software
      • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
      • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be proficient in technical writing
      • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
        Preferred Education and Experience:
        • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or Communication
        • Five or more years of related experience in the field of IT with a focus on Project Management
          Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
          • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other Project Management Certification. ITIL Foundation Certification
            Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
            • Proven ability to manage departmental and enterprise-level information technology projects
            • Knowledge of multiple Project Management Methodologies (e.g. Traditional, Iterative, Scrum)
            • Skills in mentoring, negotiating, basic vendor relations, advanced client relations skills, proposal writing, business acumen, persuasive communication, adaptability to change, team leadership skills, and quality assurance
            • Industry related skills to include, proficiency with ITIL, IT project management processes, knowledge of IT security regulations, IT sourcing, and knowledge of current IT industry issues and trends
            • Proven record of strong oral and written communication skills
            • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently to see a project through to completion
              Job Responsibilities:
              • Leads planning, execution, and successful completion of concurrent IT projects using established traditional and agile methodologies
              • Develops project plans to include: goals, timelines, resources, and schedules for assigned projects
              • Facilitates project risk analysis, recommends solutions, and manages project risks
              • Provides leadership, direction, and coaching on project-specific tasks in accordance with best practices and project management standards
              • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations to convey project information to sponsors, stakeholders, and supervisors
              • Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings to guide project planning, reporting, and completion
              • Uses a wide-range of communication practices to build teamwork and keep stakeholders informed
              • Conducts data analyses to fulfill project health reporting and special information needs of contracts
              • Compiles quantitative and qualitative reports for submission to project sponsors and stakeholders
              • Reviews deliverables prepared by project team leaders and members
              • Facilitates vendor activities for projects to include requests for proposal, quotation, and information
              • Develops statements of work and manages timelines, risks, budget, and scope for of vendor projects
              • Reviews vendor documentation, contracts, and addenda, making recommendations to management
              • Fosters positive relationships with departments and personnel within the Division of Student Affairs
              • Supports the success and objectives of the Department of IT
              • Participates in training and professional development sessions; Performs other duties as assigned.
