We are looking for a skilled technician who is passionate about cars and customer satisfaction. As a member of our second shift team, you'll maintain our high standards of vehicle repairs, ensuring that every car meets CarMax's rigorous quality guidelines. Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following all dealership and factory standards. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform the needed repairs. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notify service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised. Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Participate in ongoing technical education to keep up with industry trends and standards. Knowledge of automotive systems and components Excellent problem-solving skills Good communication skills Ability to operate diagnostic tools Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items Detail-oriented Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k ASE Certification preferred Any manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus
