Job Description Job Description The Chief Estimator is responsible for the overall management of estimating activities for Enterprise Electricals Houston Division. This role oversees all estimating operations, ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable bids while supporting company revenue growth and strategic partnerships. The Chief Estimator leads, mentors, and develops the estimating team, maintains estimating systems and databases, and collaborates closely with senior leadership to support long-term growth objectives. Enterprise Electrical is a commercial electrical contractor committed to excellence, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. The Chief Estimator plays a critical leadership role in driving consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all estimating efforts while upholding Enterprise Electricals core values. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston division Supervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimators Develop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexity Review RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitiveness Manage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectives Review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawings Communicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationships Prepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of work Conduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiatives Develop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffs Maintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standards Establish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practices Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as needed Analyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy Provide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making Attend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationships Maintain confidentiality of all departmental and company information Assist with additional duties as required to support business objectives Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills Required: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred Extensive experience in electrical estimating and preconstruction leadership Experience Requirements: 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience Proven experience leading and developing estimating teams Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction practices Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of estimating software, including Accubid Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making capabilities Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, leadership, and external partners Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to develop long-term strategies aligned with company growth goals Professional judgment in high-impact financial and contractual decisions Ability to uphold and model Enterprise Electricals core values Enterprise Electricals Core Values & Job Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following job competencies: Cooperation/Teamwork Works collaboratively, supports team goals, and communicates effectively.
