The Advisor Services Data Delivery Team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to build and support Cloud-based applications that that provide critical, high-volume data processing for Schwab's Advisor clients and third parties. This position requires an individual with strong problem-solving skill who can contribute to a highly collaborative culture and agile team environment. Our Software Development Engineers are driven to learn, grow, and continuously contribute to improving the Schwab experience and technology. -Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of critical, high-volume processing applications using Cloud technologies.Work collaboratively with other engineers, architect, and product owners to solve challenging problems.Develop applications using industry best practices and standards.Support your solutions throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.What you haveBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.3-5 years professional experience in software development.Experience developing in Java. Other Object-Oriented language (C#) experience is a plus.Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server). Knowledge of ETL concepts and experience working with an ETL solution.Experience with Public Cloud Computing (GCP, AWS, or Azure)Experience with Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Data Flow, etc. Experience writing Unit Tests with high code coverage.Understanding of Agile development practices.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Experience with CI/CD practices.Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented and focused on driving solutions to completion.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.PreferredExperience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or TypeScript.Experience using Jira or other agile work tracking system.Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products, including Dataflow, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, CloudSQL (Postgres) and Terraform scripting.Financial industry experienceIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
