Job Description:
Under general supervision of the City Engineer, the Engineer I /
II is responsible for assisting in providing professional
engineering services in connection with traffic operations, safety
and mobility for the City of College Station.
Principal Duties
Qualifications
Required:
Engineer I
Bachelors Degree in civil engineering and four (4) to six (6) years
of civil engineering experience or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License,
or the ability to obtain by reciprocity within six (6) months of
date of hire. Valid Texas Drivers License. Knowledge of the Texas
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), AASHTOs A Policy
on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, and the Highway
Capacity Manual (HCM).
Engineer II
Bachelors Degree in civil engineering and six (6) to eight (8)
years of civil engineering experience or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License,
or the ability to obtain by reciprocity within six (6) months of
date of hire. Valid Texas Drivers License. Knowledge of the Texas
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), AASHTOs A Policy
on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, and the Highway
Capacity Manual (HCM).
Preferred:
Experience in municipal government. Knowledge of traffic management
technology and transportation systems. Demonstrated public speaking
abilities.
Supplemental Information
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Drug Screening: Due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature
of this position, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment or
pre-placement drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined
in City policy.
