Davey Resource Group (DRG) is currently hiring certified arborists, professional foresters, horticulturalists, natural resource specialists, environmental scientists, GIS technicians, and plant and outdoor enthusiasts to join our workforce. Job Duties Work with major utility company to address their vegetation clearance needs Inspect utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions Qualifications Associate's degree in forestry or a related field OR 1 year of Utility Vegetation Management experience or similar experience in a related field (tree work industry, landscape professional) Knowledge of local tree species and growth rates Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather Working knowledge of the electric utility safety concerns (tree/wire conflict) Working knowledge of office suite, ArcGIS maps and electronic work planning software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roads Additional Information What We Offer:* We invest in our employees by offering industry-leading training, technology, and benefits that lead to a rewarding and safe work experience for employees at all levels. $18 - 28 per hour (depending on certifications, education and experience) Group health plans Short-term and long-term disability insurance Life insurance Paid parental leave 401k with up to a 4% company match Employee Stock Purchase Plan: Opportunity to buy company stock at a 15% discount Holidays and paid time off Payroll savings plan Charitable matching gift program Employee referral bonus program Employee Educational Scholarship Davey Family Scholarship 20% discount on all Davey services Cell phone discounts Vehicle purchase discount program Plus, so much more!
