professional to serve as a Senior Manager, Community Recovery for
the Hurricanes Beryl & Francine Long-Term Recovery Operation in
Texas. This is a term-limited, benefits eligible position expected
to last through June 2026, with the opportunity to extend based on
business need. This is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX,
frequent travel to impacted communities will be required.
Preference will be given to residents of Houston TX and surrounding
areas.Hurricane Beryl was a significant tropical cyclone that
impacted the United States in July 2024. It made landfall over
Matagorda Bay, Texas, on July 8th, 2024, with maximum sustained
winds reaching 90 mph. The storm was particularly devastating,
causing 14 fatalities across the U.S., with 11 of those occurring
in Texas. Beryl also affected areas in the Caribbean and the
Yucatan Peninsula before making its way to the Gulf Coast, where it
left a trail of destruction. The hurricane was notable not only for
its strength but also for the extensive damage it caused to
infrastructure and communities in its path.The Senior Manager,
Community Recovery reports to the Deputy Director, National
Long-Term Recovery Operations and serves as the Community Recovery
leader in an assigned geography when a Recovery Program is
implemented post-disaster. The Senior Manager is responsible for
the implementation of the community recovery program, which
includes acting as a convenor, facilitative leader, and problem
solver in recovery efforts in the impacted communities. The Senior
Manager will utilize an established strategy to develop and/or
participate with Long Term Recovery Groups, Unmet Needs committees,
and other coalitions of community leaders and stakeholders that
will then identify and act on recovery priorities.WHERE YOUR CAREER
IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):* Direct, coordinate,
and manage Red Cross community recovery activities in assigned
geography. Produce plans and reports as required.* Support grants,
individual resilience, and preparedness efforts to maximize program
reach and impact in vulnerable communities.* Work in partnership
with community leaders and stakeholders to:o Conduct community
assessments to understand the impact of the disasters, response and
recovery efforts to date, and assess the gaps between needs and
resources.o Conduct strategic planning for community recovery
interventions and facilitate meetings and broker action among
multiple community sectors;* Manage and direct outreach activities
such as establishing contacts and attending community meetings.*
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with
community agencies, schools, businesses, various levels of
government and the public.* Monitor progress through data
collection - both qualitative and quantitative. * Ensure that
American Red Cross and partner services are available to diverse
communities.* Communication and coordination of external activities
with internal Red Cross departments (Disaster Cycle Services,
Service to the Armed Forces, Chapter Executive Directors, etc.) to
ensure a common operating picture is shared.* Other duties as
assigned.The salary range for this position is $88,320. -$97,000.

include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have
and comparison to other employees already in this role.WHAT YOU
NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):Education: Bachelor's
degree requiredExperience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or
equivalent combination of education and related experience
required.Management Experience: N/A.Skills & Abilities: Excellent
interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of program or service and ability
to create presentations and develop training modules. Develop
project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational
goals. Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to
develop creative processes for continuous program or service
improvements. Proven track record of collaboration, facilitation,
problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management.
Ability for planning, public speaking, project management and
process improvement required. Must be customer oriented, organized,
and able to operate with an orientation toward solutions with an
external focus, and team orientation. Intermediate level
proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with federal, state, and local
employment laws. Must be able to perform all assigned
responsibilities under "grey sky" requirements. Ensure all American
Red Cross finance policies and procedures are followed as related
to the scope of work activity. Ability to work on a team.Deployment
Requirement : Disaster employees are required to deploy to disaster
relief operations outside of their region at a minimum of once a
year. Deployments contribute to skill building, career development
and exposure to different types of disasters. Employees must meet
all training and physical capacity requirements for
deployment.Travel: Frequent travel to these counties for meetings
and other activities will be required. Must have a Valid Driver's
License.* Combination of candidate's education and general
experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate
to description's minimum education and general experience years
combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).Physical

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will
consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers,
phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the
ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a
