Job TitleFinancial Accountant IIIAgencyTexas A&M Agrilife Extension ServiceDepartmentAdministrative SupportProposed Minimum SalaryCommensurateJob LocationCollege Station, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionJob Responsibilities:-Provides oversight and guidance to district offices for county extension agent salary and cost allocation actions using workday human capital management (HCM). Maintains complex cost allocation tool in Excel, updating for required scenarios as needed for district office use. Collaborates with district office managers and human resources to facilitate salary actions for County Operations using workday HCM. Analyzes and monitors cost share requirements for county agent positions, calculating effort, and coordinating payroll cost transfers (PCTs) as needed for various salary actions. Reviews, monitors, and analyzes annual county budgets (CB5) and county expenditure (CE) reports for timely submission, completeness of information, and appropriate workday HCM action. Monitors and tracks that all CB5 and CE forms are properly submitted and accounted for in Laserfiche to ensure data for state and federal reporting is complete and accurate.-Provides fiscal support to EFNEP, BLT, and County Operations to include monitoring accounts, performing expenditure trend analysis, and handling budget transfers. Serves as a point of contact for district office managers, assisting with fiscal, budget, workday costing allocation issues, fee-based programming, and procedural issues. Analyzes expenditure patterns monthly and annually using data warehouse queries and assists with preparation of annual federal budget submission for EFNEP. Assists the Extension budget office with the annual budget and other fiscal processes as needed. Prepares and presents training as requested to district office managers, county agents, and departmental budget staff on various topics.-Monitors, reviews, and compiles monthly data for agency fee-based programming effort, to include processing required journal entries. Builds and maintains appropriate fee-based program business objects queries in the data warehouse to ensure accuracy of monthly entries. Follows up with unit business staff, district office managers and county extension agents as needed on fee-based programming issues. Serves as liaison to banking and receivables office for district and county agent fee-based programming issues.-Other duties as required.Required Education and Experience:-Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience plus an additional four years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Good verbal and written communication skills. Customer service and problem solving skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.All positions are security-sensitive.
